Suspect in five year old Northeast Tennessee murder case apprehended in Asheville
On Christmas Eve, of 2016, investigators with the Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Department discovered the body of Keila Marie Gilbert-Taylor, a victim of a homicide.
It took five years, but authorities now have the suspect in the Gilbert-Taylor case in custody. 27 year old Zefrin Leigh Parker developed as a suspect in the death of Gilbert-Taylor but left the area with one charge of Felony Murder by his name.
Warrants were previously secured for Parker’s arrest in Washington County Tennessee after a DNA match was made of him from evidence at the crime scene. Local investigators tracked Parker to Asheville North Carolina and on Wednesday Parker was arrested with the assistance of Asheville North Carolina Police.
Parker is being held in the Washington County, Tennessee Detention Center without bond and is scheduled for arraignment on Friday in Sessions Court.
