Gov. Lee lifts nursing home visitation restrictions, extends county authority to issue mask mandates
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has signed a series of executive orders, one of which permits counties across the state the authority to continue ordering face covering requirements in public places.
Among the details in the executive orders signed on Friday includes the lifting of state mandated nursing home and long-term care facility visitation restrictions, which now allows these sites to use Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services guidance to restrict visitation or loosen restrictions, as state health officials say all nursing home and long-term residents and staff are expected to complete COVID-19 vaccinations by Sunday.
The limited state of emergency along with the locality’s authority to issue mask mandates will now run through April 28th.
