Washington County, VA launches courthouse renovation website
Washington County, VA residents can now look at ongoing work to renovations of the county courthouse in a virtual setting.
The Washington County, VA Board of Supervisors announced the rollout of the courthouse renovation webpage, which allows citizens to have transparent information on the latest developments on items like work that has already taken place, concept drawings of what renovations could look like, and other documents pertaining to the renovation timeline as well as bid information.
Washington County officials say they are continuing to focus on finding means to provide additional space and necessary renovations at its current location in downtown Abingdon after voters rejected a referendum in 2019 to move the courthouse to the former Kmart location at the Town Centre Shopping Complex.
