Police: Woman in critical condition after being struck by vehicle early Saturday in Johnson City

Johnson City Police are investigating a weekend traffic incident involving a pedestrian being struck early Saturday morning.

Officers say the accident occurred around 4 a.m. on W. St. of Franklin Rd. near Watauga Ave., where a Nissan Rogue driven by Austin Lane, 21, of Norton, VA, was traveling east when his vehicle reportedly struck Victoria Simm, 24, of Johnson City, TN while she was crossing the road.

Simm was taken to the hospital and at last check remains in critical condition.
