Three Arrested In Sullivan County On Homicide Charges In CLaiborne County, Tennessee
Three people are jailed, one in Sullivan County Monday after being arrested in connection with the murder of a Tazewell, Tennessee man. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, 27 year old Andrew Smith is awaiting transport back to Claiborne County Tennesse. 24 year old Courtney Gilpin and 37 year old Jimmy Lee Riffe are jailed in Claiborne County after being arrested in Sullivan County on Friday. On February 22 agents with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department and the Tazewell Tennessee Police Department began investigating the death of 29 year old Aaron Jeremiah Massengill after his body was found along a Road in Tazwell. An autopsy revealed Massengill died as a result of a gunshot wound. Smith, Gilpin, and Riffe were developed as suspects in the case and were tracked to a residence in Sullivan County where they were apprehended. The investigation is active and ongoing.
