VDOE: All but three Southwest VA school systems have returned to full in-person learning

Nearly all Southwest Virginia school systems have transitioned back to full in-person learning.

The Virginia Department of Education’s state snapshot, which shows the operating status of each district, reports that all but three school systems are operating at least four days a week in-person for all grade students.

Russell, Scott, and Smyth County are currently offering partial in-person learning for all grade students, but Smyth County is expected to be the next school system in the area to move back to at least four days of in-person learning by March 8.

As of Feb. 22, only four other districts were operating in-person at least four days a week outside of Southwest VA.
