Joint resolution seeks to amend TN Constitution to allow for casino style gaming
Could the Volunteer State soon add casino style gambling to the state’s gaming options?
House Joint Resolution 93, introduced by Rep. Jason Powell, proposes an amendment to the state constitution to authorize casino style gaming in the state, while requiring that the earned revenue be allocated to K-12 education projects and other programs determined by the general assembly. The resolution is currently assigned to the Department and Agencies subcommittee for review.
Tennessee’s online only sports betting program went live in November 2020, and has already generated more than $10 million in privilege taxes.
