Report: Abingdon resident received more than $9,000 in TennCare benefits

A woman from Abingdon, Virginia has been criminally charged with illegally accepting TennCare benefits.

A report from the Office of Inspector General says Lauren Cole, 38, is charged with fraud and falsely reporting a Tennessee residence in Bradley County to obtain healthcare coverage.

The inspector’s notes said Cole claimed that residence to qualify for the plan that she used to obtain more than $9,000 in medical services.
