Suspect charged with aggravated assault in connection to shooting in Hampton

A Carter County, Tennessee man is charged with aggravated assault following a shooting in Hampton.

James Terry Pierce, 34, had wounded a victim at a reported shooting that happened just after 1 a.m. Tuesday on Swimming Pool Road, according to a report from Sheriff Dexter Lunceford’s office.

The victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm. The sheriff said evidence at the scene linked Pierce to the incident. He is being held without bond.
