Pimp my Ride: Morristown solid waste disposal director indicted for using county money to spruce up truck

A county employee in Morristown has been indicted by a grand jury for using a taxpayer-funded credit card to ‘pimp his ride.’
Hamblen County Solid Waste Disposal Director Dan Winter is charged with one count of official misconduct and theft over $1,000, according to information from the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office.
Evidence presented to the jury showed Winter charged almost $1,700 worth of items on the county card including a $600 subscription for monthly car washes, $371 for two tires for his 4×4 pickup, and $725 for a truck bed cover.
The office reported that Winter misused the funds although he had a $650 monthly stipend approved by the county for a vehicle allowance.
