Russell County attorney receives reprimand from Virginia State Bar

A Lebanon, Virginia attorney has received notice of a public reprimand following an investigation into her handling of a divorce case in 2019.

Information published by the Virginia State Bar says a subcommittee issued the order for Traci Hall Stanley. During the review, the agency wrote that Stanley had violated provisions of the state’s Rules of Professional Conduct in the areas of explanation of fees and proper safekeeping of client funds.

Stanley must review opinions related to ethics as part of the terms of her punishment and her account books and other financial records will be reviewed by the state bar with unannounced visits for one year.
