Johnson City Man Wanted For Dangerous Drug Violations Arrested While Sleeping

A man wanted in another jurisdiction on dangerous drug violations is now jailed in Johnson City after city police discovered the man in possession of numerous drug and drug paraphernalia. 18 year old Philip J. Gilbert of 207 Boyd Street in Johnson City is charged with felony possession of schedule ll narcotics, simple possession of schedule ll narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia after Gilbert was found sleeping outside a convenience store early Saturday morning. Police found suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside his backpack. Gilbert was transported to the Washington County Tennessee Detention Center and is being held on bond while he awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
