BlueCross BlueShield, ETSU partnering in creation of accelerated institute for technology jobs

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and ETSU are partnering together to create an institute to offer an accelerated computing degree to lead to a job offer at BlueCross.

The BlueSky TN Institute plans to provide a two-year pathway into one of the fastest growing careers in the country. The collaboration will work to fill gaps between technology job openings and those who are qualified to fill the roles.

BlueCross says Tennessee has around 4,000 technology jobs posted annually but only 1,000 qualified graduates who can take on those positions. ETSU BlueSky Institute students would complete coursework on the BlueCross campus in Chattanooga.
