Deputies collect 3 pounds of meth from Saltville residence

A Saltville man is being held without bond after Smyth County deputies seized a sizable haul of meth from his home.

A report from Sheriff Chip Shuler’s office said Michael Dwayne Furley, 51, is charged with one count of possession of drugs with intent to distribute following the discovery of three pounds of methamphetamine at his home in the 700 block of East Main Street along with $5,600 in cash.

Furley is being held without bond in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
