NASCAR announces race lineups ready for Saturday’s heat races for Cup Series and Truck Series
NASCAR announced starting positions for eight heat races Saturday that will determine the starting lineup for Sunday’s Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway as well as the Pinty’s Truck Race on Dirt.
The Cup Series first heat race features the drivers that are 1-2 in points, leader Denny Hamlin and the returning Kyle Larson who collected 46 wins on dirt in 2020 including 12 in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
Caution laps will not count in those four qualifying, 15-lap contests. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will begin their heat races at 4:30 and the Cup Series is slated to sling dirt at 6 p.m.
Practice for both divisions will take place this afternoon with grandstands opening at 2:30 p.m.
