UPDATE: Regulatory officials approve certificate of need for free-standing emergency department in Morristown
State regulatory leaders have approved a certificate of need request for a multi-million dollar medical facility to be constructed in West Morristown near Interstate 81.
Covenant Health’s proposal received opposition from neighboring Tennova Healthcare with claims of an anticipated 21 percent decrease in residents’ use of an emergency department in that area.
Covenant plans to utilize 48 acres for a new diagnostic center, free-standing emergency department, and space for physician offices at a cost of $37 million.
