Fundraiser to assist family of East Tennessee policeman who died just after his final shift
An online fundraising effort has been launched to help the family of an East Tennessee policeman who died shortly after his final hours on the job.
Stan Shaw, 72, of Morristown, was found unresponsive inside his vehicle a week ago after suffering a heart attack. He was taken to an area hospital where he was placed on life support until his wife made the decision to take him off of the machine, according to the author and creator of the GoFundMe account who is identified as a family friend.
Shaw had just finished his his final shift as a court bailiff in Hamblen County—concluding a 50-year career in law enforcement. The sponsor says the money collected will help Shaw’s widow with funeral expenses and other bills.
