TDOT suspending highway construction for Easter weekend beginning Thursday evening
The annual closure of construction zones on Tennessee highways for the Easter holiday weekend is scheduled for Thursday beginning at 6 p.m.
All interstate construction will be suspended until Monday, April 5 at 6 am to improve traffic flow across the state for an anticipated increase in travelers and for the safety of TDOT workers.
Major transportation analysts predict more than double the commuters for Easter this year with aspects of the pandemic beginning to recede.
Motorists are encouraged to keep an eye out for workers in long-term road projects that will continue to have some activity during the holiday.
