VDOT to hold online meeting on Route 58 widening project April 1

The Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled an online meeting to allow residents to learn more about an upcoming road expansion project from Abingdon to Damascus.

VDOT’s design team will be presenting project updates to the Route 58 Phase IV widening as well as answering questions. When the project is advertised to the construction community for bids in May, it will be advertised in two segments.

Segment one includes widening from 0.038-mile east of Route 708 (Bethel Road) to 0.200 mile east of Route 711 (Drowning Ford Road).

Segment two includes widening from 0.200 mile east of Route 711 (Drowning Ford Road) to 0278-mile east of Route 858 (Hollyfield Road), with this segment dependent upon construction amounts.
