Northam Signs Historic Virginia Voting Rights Act
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam on Wednesday announces approval of the landmark Voting Rights Act of Virginia, making the Commonwealth the first state in the nation to enact its own version of a voting rights act. Northam says in a time when voting rights are under attack across the country, Virginia is expanding access to the ballot box, not restricting it. Northam says he is proud to support the historic legislation and urges Congress to follow Virginia’s example.
