UPDATE: New Year’s Day 2020 Carter County stabbing suspect enters Alford Plea, sentenced to 15 years
A man accused of a random stabbing attack at a home on New Year’s Day last year in Carter County has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Justin Todd Williams entered into an Alford Plea in court Thursday on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, and attempted murder, which was amended to aggravated assault.
The Carter County Sheriff’s Office said on Jan. 1, 2020, Williams stabbed a homeowner and cut the homeowner’s wife with a knife while their two children were inside the home. The victims told authorities they did not know Williams, who was eventually subdued by the homeowner before police arrested him.
