Virginia Lottery: $265M wagered for online sports bets in first month of legal sports betting
Figures are in for the first month of legal online sports betting in Virginia.
The Virginia Lottery sports betting report for the month of February says Virginians wagered more than $265M while residents won around $253.5M. February’s report also included money wagered on the Super Bowl, as nearly $20M in bets were placed, or 7% of the total wagers for the month. Currently there are nine online sports betting operators with permits in the state.
Hard Rock officials previously stated they intended to apply for a sports betting permit for its Hotel and Casino set to open in Bristol.
