Lee voices support for bill that would ban COVID passports in Tennessee
A bill will be discussed in a Tennessee legislature subcommittee that would ban any type of COVID vaccine passport project that has been mulled over by the Biden administration.
The proof of vaccination ID would be free to obtain and could be accessed by a smartphone app with a scannable code, according to preliminary proposals.
Governor Bill Lee came out Tuesday with statements on social media promising to support the bill to help protect the privacy of state residents and reiterated that the vaccine is a personal choice, not a mandate.
I oppose vaccine passports. The COVID-19 vaccine should be a personal health choice, not a government requirement.
