Three reported injuries following school bus crash in Marion

A school bus loaded with more than a dozen students was involved in a Tuesday morning crash in Marion.

The Virginia State Police reported the wreck occurred just before 7:30 in the 2000 block of Lee Highway. A motorist ran into the back of the bus that had stopped to let a student on board.

The driver of the vehicle, the bus driver, and one of the 17 students on the bus were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. VSP says the crash is still under investigation and charges are pending.
