Gov. Bill Lee signs permitless carry bill

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has signed legislation that will allow qualified residents 21 and older to carry a firearm either open or concealed without a permit.

Lee in a tweet Thursday said he signed what he calls the constitutional carry bill because “it shouldn’t be hard for law-abiding Tennesseans to exercise their second-amendment rights.”

The bill also permits anyone 18 and older in the military to carry open or concealed. The law will take effect July 1st.
