Third suspect accused of kidnapping and assaulting man in Carter County in 2019 enters into Alford plea
A third suspect involved in the alleged kidnapping and beating of a man in Carter County has received a ten year prison sentence.
Angela Hudson-Adams entered into an alford plea to a reduced charge of aggravated kidnapping, while charges of attempted first-degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping were dismissed. Investigators say she along with Blake Adams, Brandon Kempson, and Amy Campbell held a man against his will at an Elizabethton home for several days in May of 2019.
The victim was reportedly hit with a skateboard, burned with a torch, and tied to a chair. Blake Adams and Brandon Kempson each pleaded guilty to amended kidnapping charges in January while they also had other charges dismissed, and were also ordered to serve 10 years in prison.
Campell, the final suspect in the case, will appear before a judge in June.
