North Carolina and Tennessee experts called to investigate following discovery of remains in Mountain City

State experts from North Carolina and Tennessee are both involved in an investigation after human remains were found in the border town of Mountain City.

A report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said the body of an adult male was removed from an area off Forge Creek Road after the person was found by a motorist on Sunday.

The body was transported to Johnson City for further examination and an autopsy.
