NEW: Sullivan’s mass vaccination event now at Whitetop Park, switch made to Pfizer vaccine
The federal pause placed on Johnson & Johnson vaccines has forced a change in plans for the Sullivan County Regional Health Department’s mass vaccination event for this week.
The agency announced a serum switch to Pfizer for the three-day happening that will now take place at Whitetop Creek Park located off Highway 11E instead of Bristol Motor Speedway from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Friday.
The event will also accommodate patients who were scheduled to receive their second vaccine shot.
Organizers said appointments are preferred but not required and participants do not need to arrive early. A no parking policy on the side of Highway 394 will be enforced by the Bristol Tennessee Police Department.
