UPDATE: Mass vaccination clinic scheduled for Saturday in Marion to go on as planned, officials to use Pfizer doses instead of Johnson & Johnson vaccine
A mass vaccination clinic scheduled for Saturday in Marion will go on as planned but will involve the use of a different COVID vaccine.
Officials with the Mount Rogers Health District said they will administer Pfizer doses instead of Johnson & Johnson doses due to recommendations from the FDA and CDC to halt administering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as an investigation is underway into side effects of rare blood clots developed in six women after receiving the serum.
Appointments can be made on the Virginia Department of Health website and are open to anyone 16 and older.
