$500K grant heading to revitalization project for Wytheville, VA theatre
A historic Southwest Virginia theatre will soon be getting a makeover thanks to a half million dollar grant approved by the Appalachian Regional Commission.
Virginia US Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner have announced that $500,000 will go towards the Millwald Theatre Restoration and Economic Revitalization project. The grant will go towards renovations to reopen the 15,000 square foot theatre, which is estimated to attract close to 50,000 annual visitors and bolster economic activity in the Wytheville, VA area.
The Millwald Theatre first opened in 1928, and you can learn more about the theatre by clicking here.
