Johnson & Johnson vaccine review by CDC linked to Tennessee and Virginia
State health officials in Virginia have flagged a death of a woman in her 40s who reportedly died within two weeks of receiving a dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine.
Virginia Vaccine Coordinator Dr. Danny Avula said they are working with the Centers for Disease Control to determine if the 45-year-old woman’s death was formally identified in the data that forced the halt of the vaccine nationwide on Tuesday.
In a related story, several media reports have quoted an unidentified 29-year-old woman from the Nashville area as having one of the six cases of a rare blood clot condition that prompted the CDC directive after she receiving the drug
Besides the clot, the woman said she had a high fever, rigors or uncontrollable shaking, and breathing trouble that landed her in the ICU.
