UPDATE: Carter County sheriff announces $2,500 reward offered for information about weekend homicide

Carter County Sheriff Dexter Lunceford says anonymous tips about a weekend shooting have produced some potential leads but they would like to speak with the person once more.

A report from Lunceford’s office said a $2,500 reward is now available for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the death of Kevin Hathaway, 63, who was found dead Sunday in his home on Bowman Road. The sheriff said that the homicide has led him to increase patrols in the Milligan area.

Lunceford noted that investigators have ruled out a random shooting or robbery attempt as the cause of the incident.
