Tazewell County company Lawrence Brothers creating 40 new jobs with $3.2 million plant upgrade

A Southwest Virginia manufacturer with roots in coal mining plans to upgrade their current facility in Tazewell County.

Lawrence Brothers, Inc. announced $3.2 million in capital improvements at its Bluefield plant including installing new equipment that will allow them to create 40 new jobs and double production, according to state Economic Development Partnership officials.

Products like motive power trays and electrical control panels assembled by Lawrence are in use by several worldwide companies including General Electric.
