City of Bristol, TN to reopen Slater Center starting May 3
More than one year after closing to the public because of the COVID-19 pandemic, City of Bristol, TN officials are set to finally reopen the Slater Center.
The Slater Center is scheduled to reopen beginning May 3 under a modified schedule that includes Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Several modifications will be in place including requiring the wearing of face masks in the building, COVID-19 pre-screening prior to entry, and all classes will be held in the large gymnasium.
Those with birthdays in even numbered years will be able to access the center Monday and Wednesday, while individuals with birthdays in odd numbered years will be permitted to access the center Tuesday and Thursday.
Additional modifications in place include the following:
*Equipment will not be provided for yoga classes and participants must bring their own.
*Exercise rooms will be open for a one-hour time limit per participant.
*Food and drinks will not be allowed to be brought into the building, with the exception of water bottles. Water fountains will not be in use.
*Individuals can play billiards at two people per table.
*The cafeteria will be open, but no snacks or meals will be served.
*One-on-one fitness classes will resume on May 17 with registration required.
*If the building reaches capacity concerning to Slater Center officials, they may limit further entries.
All individuals will need to fill out new information and release forms. Registration will be available for two weeks from Monday, April 19 through Friday, April 30. Participants are encouraged to register online by clicking here. Participants can register in-person at the Slater Center office during this period from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Slater Center will be closed on Fridays for deep cleaning.
