Four Arrested After High Speed Chase Through Southwest Virginia
Four people from Alexandria Virginia are jailed including the driver of a stolen, Acura Sedan that lead authorities on a high on a high speed chase that reached 120 mph in several southwest Virginia Counties including Wythe and Smyth counties. Virginia State Police were running radar on Interstate 81 in Pulaski County when the pursuit began and continued into the town of Wytheville, Virginia,into Grayson County, and eventually ended in Smyth County Virginia after 21 year old Malikai Robert Elija Crawford and three other occupants fled the scene on foot. All four individuals from Alexandria were apprehended and taken into custody. Crawford was charged with possession of Stolen Property, possession of a stolen firearm by a felon, reckless driving and felony eluding police…three others including two juveniles were also charged with numerous transgressions including possession of stolen property and possession of a concealed weapon. Crawford is being held in the New River Valley Regional Jail.
