The case of a June 2020 murder and arson in Bristol, Virginia is heading to a grand jury.
Investigators say Terry Linebaugh and Heather Jones plotted a scheme to lure Lynn Hammonds, 39, to a vacant home on Mary’s Chapel Road where he was shot multiple times before the two left the home and came back to set it on fire. At the time of the alleged killing, Linebaugh had recently been released from an 18-year prison sentence. Jones, who is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, had her case bound over to criminal court on March 10.
Linebaugh appeared in court in Washington County, VA on Monday and was indicted as well. He is facing five charges in the case including first-degree murder and arson.
