Kingsport Farmers Market opens April 24

The 2021 Kingsport Farmers Market is scheduled to open this weekend.

Kristie Leonard, Market Manager and Special Events Coordinator for Kingsport, said in a news release Tuesday that market goers should be prepared to follow safety protocols similar to those in place last year as long as they are deemed necessary.

Officials recommend wearing a mask while visiting the market, stay home if you are feeling sick, and only touch produce you intend to buy. Other recommendations can be found below:

*Customers should be alert and follow signs in the market.
*Individuals should keep at least six feet of space between themselves and others. Tape, chalk and signage will be placed around the market.
*Officials ask customers shop quickly and efficiently.
*Wash all produce purchased after leaving the market.
*Wash and sanitize hands often.

The market opens on April 24 and the season officially kicks off May 1.
