Blood drive scheduled for Thursday in Gate City to honor Scott County deputy hospitalized with COVID-19

A blood drive is being hosted today by the Scott County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office to benefit one of their deputies currently battling COVID-19 in the ICU.

The department first reported that Deputy Steve Smith was hospitalized with the virus on April 14. The Sheriff’s Office along with Marsh Regional Blood Center will be on site at the Old Gate City Flea Market from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
