Dept. of Elections: Early-voting for Virginia primaries start Friday
Early voting is opening Friday for the Republican and Democratic primaries in Virginia.
The Virginia Department of Elections said in a news release that this includes in-person voting, as well as absentee voting for voters that have requested a ballot by mail. Election officials are reminding Virginians that voters no longer need a reason to vote absentee. On the ballot includes Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and House of Delegate seats. Early voting concludes June 5 and the last day absentee ballots can be returned by mail must be postmarked for June 8 and received by the local election commission office by June 11 at noon.
The primary elections are scheduled for June 8.
