Gov. Northam updates COVID-19 restrictions; restaurant bar areas can open and school performances permitted among major changes
Virginia’s coronavirus restrictions have once again been updated which includes a provision to allow bar areas in restaurants to reopen to customers.
Amendments to Executive Order 72 issued Wednesday from Gov. Ralph Northam will allow patrons to drink at bar areas as long as there is six feet of distance between other customers. Gatherings are also permitted in instructional settings for educational purposes like PTA meetings, dances, and fundraisers, but are still subject to gathering restrictions.
Also included is the state permitting school theatrical and musical performances as long as the performers are students, teachers, administrators, or other school staff.
