Greeneville City Schools receives EPA grant to buy bus with cleaner emissions
Greeneville Director of Schools Steve Starnes announced his system is receiving a $20,000 grant rebate that will help with the purchase of a new diesel school bus that will produce cleaner emissions than older models.
The school’s transportation department received a $10,000 grant back in November to fit a new bus with seat belts for students.
Greeneville City Schools is only the third school system in the state of Tennessee to be awarded the special diesel grant by the Environmental Protection Agency.
