Tangled: Fast speeds send sedan skyward into utility lines in Bristol, Tennessee crash
Preliminary details from the Bristol Tennessee Police Department say a driver went airborne causing his sedan to become entangled in utility lines above Highway 126.
The crash occurred just after 2 p.m. on Thursday. The report says Donald Vincent Williams, 31, of Bristol, Virginia was traveling at a high rate of speed when turning from Blountville Highway onto Stafford Street, sending the car skyward and into Bristol Tennessee Essential Services power cables that kept his car suspended above the roadway.
Williams was not injured and was charged with reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, and violation of the insurance law.
Crews spent several hours restoring electric and digital services to customers knocked out by the wreck.
