Washington County, VA Sheriff’s Office searching for woman who avoided arrest attempt

Authorities are looking for an Abingdon woman wanted on a felony probation violation who escaped an arrest attempt on Wednesday.

The Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office attempted to locate and arrest Holly Honaker, but sheriff’s officials say Honaker was able to escape out of a bedroom window and fled from deputies. A canine and Virginia State Police helicopter spent an hour searching for Honaker before the search was called off as they learned Honaker had received a ride out of the area.

Police believe Honaker will return to her home at the 16000 block of Black Hollow Road or is with her boyfriend Matthew McKinnon.

Honaker is wanted for felony probation violation with underlying narcotic violations. The Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with information on her location should contact their department or 911.
