BTPD: Bristol, VA man charged with two counts of attempted murder after weekend stabbing at bar

A Bristol, Virginia man is facing attempted murder charges after authorities say he stabbed two people at a downtown Bristol bar over the weekend.

Bristol, TN Police were called to Stateline Bar and Grill on State Street Sunday morning around 1:30 a.m. on a report of an altercation with a knife. Police found two victims with non-life threatening injuries who were transported to the hospital.

Officers identified the suspect as Emmanuel Morton, 39, who was arrested on charges of two counts of attempted second degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault. Officers say this was an isolated incident, but the investigation is ongoing.
