TBI investigating weekend shooting in downtown Johnson City, one injured in incident

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Johnson City Police Department in an investigation into a weekend shooting in downtown Johnson City that sent one person to the hospital.

TBI Spokesperson Leslie Earhart said in a statement to Supertalk that police were called to the corner of Cherry Street and Spring Street just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning, where an individual was shot during the incident and taken to the hospital.

The investigation remains active and ongoing according to Earhart, and no further details have been released.
