Griffith Calls Biden’s Virtual Climate Summit A Missed Opportunity

Ninth District Congressman Morgan Griffith calls President Biden’s recent, virtual Climate Summit, a missed opportunity.
Griffith made the comments in his weekly newsletter to constituents. Griffith says nothing productive emerge from the meeting and that Biden has already chosen to reenter the Paris Climate agreement, which Griffith says then President Trump rightly decided to leave. Griffith went on to say that Biden committed the United States to unrealistic goals concerning greater carbon emission reductions from countries such as China and India. The lawmaker says Biden’s summit did not show leadership, and only renewed commitment to the failed approaches of the past and Biden’s actions will hurt American jobs with little or no benefit for the environment.
