K-9 Xeno moving from Virginia to Tennessee due to impending marijuana legalization in the Commonwealth
A Southwest Virginia K-9 trained to sniff out marijuana has found a new home across the state line.
Xeno, who was part of the Scott County, VA Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, is no longer able to do his duties because of recently passed legislation in the Commonwealth that prohibits probable cause searches in instances where the scent of marijuana is detected.
A Facebook post from the Sheriff’s Office says Xeno will not be going far as the pup is the newest member of the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office and will serve on their K-9 unit.
