TDOC resuming volunteer services across facilities May 1
Volunteer services designed to help Tennessee’s incarcerated transition back into society will resume May 1.
The Tennessee Department of Corrections is restarting the program at all facilities and day reporting centers, restoring an opportunity for inmates to connect with more than 6,000 statewide volunteers who work in mentor, coaching, teaching, and faith-based roles.
The volunteer program has been on hold because of COVID-19. Once volunteers are permitted to make visits again, they will be able to schedule a visit by contacting their assigned facility. TDOC facilities require all visitors to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
