UPDATE: Knoxville man indicted for vehicular homicide for August incident on I-26
A Knoxville, Tennessee man has been indicted by a Sullivan County grand jury for the summertime death of a worker who was part of a mowing crew on Interstate 26.
Christopher C. Muraski, 42, turned himself in Monday and has been charged with 7 counts including vehicular homicide by intoxication, DUI, and felony reckless endangerment, according to a report from the Kingsport Police Department.
Stephen Colby Blackmon, 35, of Johnson City, was killed on August 4th when Muraski’s pickup ran off the left side of Interstate 26 and struck another truck, and then hit Blackmon who was standing in the grass median.
Police said Muraski did not stop and continued to drive into Virginia where he was stopped and arrested by officers in Weber City.
