CCSO: Investigators find meth, firearm, and drug paraphernalia, Carter County man arrested
A discovery of methamphetamine, a firearm, and drug paraphernalia has landed a Carter County man behind bars.
James Tipton, 31, also known as Nike, was arrested earlier this week on felony possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are sold, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
The Carter County Sheriff’s Office and Elizabethton Police Department’s Joint Drug Task Force concluded a months-long investigation on Tuesday through a search warrant, and said they found a number of drug paraphernalia items inside Tipton’s Pine Ridge Circle home. Meth and a firearm was also located in his vehicle according to investigators.
Tipton was arrested and is being held in the Carter County Detention Center on a $40,000 bond.
